The Ultimate Guide to Checking the Battery Level of Your AirPods

This article teaches you how to check the remaining battery life on your Apple AirPods. You can do this from your iPhone or by checking your AirPods case.

With the iPhone

Make sure the AirPods are connected to your iPhone.

Turn on your iPhone’s Bluetooth feature by swiping up from the bottom and tapping the Bluetooth icon type if it knows or gray, and then do the following: Hold the AirPods case near the iPhone. Open the case. When prompted, tap Connect.

Check the battery by holding the case against your iPhone.

When the AirPods are paired with your iPhone, you should see the battery status as a percentage at the bottom of your iPhone’s screen. It’s important to hold the case right next to your phone. It will take a few seconds after opening the case for the charge level to appear on the iPhone. If you don’t see the charge status on your iPhone, try closing and reopening the case. You should see the battery status for both your headphones and the case itself.

Open your iPhone’s widget page.

Swipe your iPhone’s screen from left to right until you get to the far left side. Here you can install the battery widget. The battery widget allows you to view the remaining battery life for each Bluetooth-connected device.

Swipe down and tap

Edit This round button is at the bottom of the page. This will open a list of available widgets.

Find the battery widget.

Scroll down until you find the battery widget. This app should be at the top of the “MORE WIDGETS” section.

Tap

+ It is located to the left of the Batteries option.

Position the battery widget at the top.

Tap and hold the ☰ icon to the right of Batteries, then drag it to the top of the Widgets page.

Tap

Done It’s in the top-right corner of the screen. This will save the changes and keep the battery widget pinned to the top of the widgets page.

Scroll up to the “BATTERIES” section.

This section is at the top of the page.

Check the remaining battery life of your AirPods.

As long as your AirPods are paired with your iPhone, you should see their battery life under your iPhone’s battery life in the “BATTERIES” box.

Use the AirPods case

Open the AirPods case.

To do this, open the cover at the top of the case and make sure that you have opened the case completely.

Make sure the AirPods are in the case.

If at least one AirPod is in the case, you can see the charging status; if not, you should at least put one AirPod in the case before proceeding.

Look for light between the AirPod compartments.

You will see either a green or a yellow light here. But if you’ve just put your AirPods in the case, it may take a few seconds for them to light up. When there are no AirPods in the case, the light here reflects the charge level of the case itself.

Determine the charge on your AirPods.

If the light here is green, your AirPods are fully charged. A yellow light, on the other hand, means that there is less than a full charge left in the AirPods.

Use your Mac’s Bluetooth menu.

If you want to know exactly how much battery life is left in your AirPods and their case, place the case next to your Mac and open the case lid, then do the following: Click the Bluetooth in the top-right corner of your Mac’s screen. If you don’t see this, open System Preferences , click Bluetooth , and click . If Bluetooth is off, click Turn Bluetooth On . Wait for your AirPods to appear. Hover over the AirPods in the Bluetooth menu. Check the remaining battery life.

Save battery

Store your AirPods in their case as much as possible.

When you’re not using your AirPods, you can also store them in the case. This will keep them charged and ready to go.

Avoid opening and closing the case too often, otherwise, battery life may decrease.

Unless you need to remove the headphones from the case, put them back in, or check the battery status, you should avoid opening and closing the case. Leaving the case open for too long will drain the battery. It’s also a good idea to clean the case and earbuds with a lint-free cloth.

Connect your AirPods to your Mac computer.

For the fastest charging times, connect AirPods to your Mac computer. You can also achieve fast charging times by using an iPhone or iPad USB charger.

Charge the AirPods at a reasonable temperature.

It should be between 0 and 35 degrees Celsius in the room where you charge the case and AirPods. This ensures a smooth charging process.

Fix battery drain by resetting your AirPods.

This involves holding down the setup button on the case until the amber light flashes, holding it for at least fifteen seconds, and then reconnecting your AirPods to your devices. If resetting doesn’t solve the problem, you should return the AirPods to the retailer.
